New notifications when Drive content violates abuse program policies

Quick launch summary
When a Google Drive file is identified as violating Google's Terms of Service or program policies, it may be restricted. When it’s restricted, you may see a flag next to the filename, you won’t be able to share it, and your file will no longer be publicly accessible, even to people who have the link.
Now, the owner of the item in Google Drive will receive an email notifying them of the action taken, and alerting them of how to request a review of the restriction if they think it is a mistake. For items in shared drives, the shared drive manager will receive the notification
This will help ensure owners of Google Drive items are fully informed about the status of their content, while also helping to ensure that users are protected from abusive content.
Getting started
Admins: There is no admin control for this feature.
End users: If a user has a file that violates Drive policies, they will receive an email with details and potential actions they can take to request a review.
An example email that would be sent when content is in violation of Drive policies
Rollout pace
Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains: Gradual rollout (up to 15 days for feature visibility) starting on December 14, 2021.

Available to all Google Workspace customers, as well as G Suite Basic and Business customers

5/18-19 有網友被轉換了，會收到信件通知如下
新增 admin 後台資訊
2017年6月9日開的 原本日期是壓 2022/5/18
但目前 5/19 尚未被轉換，admin 後台則是改成如下沒有壓日期的。
2021年 舊版 G Suite Business
5/3 跟 5/18 都收到 轉換作業將於 六月 3開始。admin 後台則是改成如下有壓日期的。
2017年6月9日開的 舊版 G Suite Business 原本日期是壓 2022/5/18 但是延遲到 2022/5/22 上午5:48 (8 小時前) 被轉換到 Google Workspace Enterprise Standard 版本了。信件如下

剛剛從 TG 群得知，目前 Google Workspace 訂閱有在推送 儲存空間 限制的頁面

目前已知 Google Workspace enterprise standard 版本如果超出使用量會被標紅，但是後續處理方式未知。

首先说明，我自己用的是72里拉的商业标准版，在北京时间2022年4月22号 美国（-7）时间 商务9.04分 使用英语客服
下面有完整的聊天记录，我这里做一点解读。
就是说，不管你买的计划容量是多少，无论是1T 2T 5T 100T还是所谓的“随心用/无限”，都只是pooled storage，或者说，是指你所有谷歌服务加起来的容量，比如Drive**个人版**，Photos，Gmail等。
但是团队盘不一样，他**不受**这个容量的限制，根据客服的说法，团队盘只有400,000文件限制，并没有特定的GB限制。如果你看了聊天记录你就知道，客服的意思就是说，团队盘无限容量。
我也问了为什么后台会显示这么多，后台只是会愚蠢的把你用的所有容量加起来然后和你买的计划比对，**这只是一个估计值**，并不是你的实际使用，如果你用的是团队盘，那你完全可以**忽略**这个警告（你可以看到，在聊天记录里，ignore这个词出现频率很高）
同时我没有忘了edu的朋友们，tos里针对edu也是和普通workspace一样，五个以上用户无限，但实际上，这个无限就是指100T。（你可以好比法律，tos只是一个大范围的规定，但是还是要听从专攻此类型问题的法律）
所以大家懂我意思了吗，继续用workspace吧，完全不在怕的。

What’s changing
We’re rolling out new storage management tools to give our customers additional visibility, control, and insights into storage usage across users, groups, and their entire organization.
In the Admin console, storage related activities can now be accessed and managed from a single source. Using these new storage management tools, admins can quickly and easily:
View a storage usage summary for their entire organization
View storage used by specific products like Drive or Gmail
View the top users of storage in their organization
View shared drives with the most storage used in your organization
Manage and delete shared drives based on storage use, including the ability to sort and delete individual or multiple shared drives
View storage limit warnings Access detailed reports on storage usage Apply storage limits for users

Why it’s important
Admins can use these new tools to see how much storage is being used across their organization and view how close their organization is to reaching their storage limit.
In Storage Settings you can manage storage limits in Google Workspace across your organization. You’ll see the storage limit settings for your entire organization, which you can customize for specific organizational units and groups. Please visit the Help Center for more details on how storage is being used—and how you can manage it—across your organization.
This setting is turned OFF by default - when it’s turned on, you can create individual storage limits.
Easily modify storage privileges
At launch, only super admins will have access to the storage management tools. Over the coming months, access will expand to delegated, user, and reseller admins. When available, admins can control all previously implemented storage policies, allowing them to control defaults and create custom roles to manage storage policies for their organization or users in specific organizational units or groups.
Getting started
Super Admins: The new storage landing page can be accessed via:
The “Storage” option in the left-hand navigation menu.
A new “Storage” card on the Admin console homepage.
Or by navigating to Account > Settings > Storage.
Google Workspace customers: Visit the Help Center to learn more about storage in Google Workspace and managing shared drive users and their activity.
Google Workspace for Education customers: Visit the Help Center to learn more about Google Workspace for Education storage.
Important Note: At launch, super admins will have access to the storage management tools. We will share an update regarding access for delegated, user, and reseller admins on the Workspace Updates Blog once available.

[January 13, 2022]: We have extended the previously announced timeframe for the Google Workspace storage policy changes. Beginning May 2, 2022, any newly created Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings, Forms, or Jamboard files will count toward storage. See below for more information.
What’s changing
We’re extending the previously announced timeframe for upcoming changes to the Google Workspace storage policy. The updated timeline is:
June 1, 2021: High-quality photos will count towards Drive quota beginning June 1, 2021. There is no change to this timeline.
May 2, 2022: Any newly created Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings, Forms, or Jamboard files will count toward storage. Existing files within these products will not count toward storage, unless they’re modified on or after May 2, 2022. Read more in our Help Center.
Note that there are no changes to the previously announced dates for personal Google accounts.
Who’s impacted
Admins and end users. Storage limits differ across Google Workspace and G Suite editions, but we estimate that the majority of users will not be affected by these changes. See “Getting Started” below for more information on determining storage usage across your organization.
Why it’s important
People are uploading more content than ever before—in fact, more than 4.3 million GB are added across Gmail, Drive, and Photos every day. These changes to our storage policy are necessary to provide our users with a great experience and to keep pace with the growing demand.
We recently announced changes to the pooled storage policy for Workspace for Education customers. As a part of these updates, to empower Google Workspace admins to adapt to this model and optimize their storage, we will provide new admin tools to identify and manage how storage is used and allocated before the policy goes into effect. We’ve decided to delay the count of Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings, Forms, or Jamboard files count toward storage quotas until that tooling is in place.

Admins: Check out the Apps usage user report (see General > Photos and Drive sections) for a comprehensive look at storage usage across your organization. To understand how much storage you’re allocated on your current plan, see the Usage and support section of the Help Center for Business editions, Enterprise editions, Education editions, and G Suite editions. If you’re not sure which edition you’re using, visit the Billing page in the Admin console.

目前已知大約在 2022/9 月份之後開的帳號已經嚴格限制 5TB
今年9月份開通的企業標準版work space，貌似現在實際只剩下5TB可用空間，之前往該號的團隊盤隨便堆了5.3TB的東西，只是提示容量超出，仍然可以繼續往裡塞。有段時間沒看，今天從其他賬號的盤移東西進去時提示“文件錯誤”之類的，而且提示單位存儲空間已滿(如圖1)，刪了部分東西後，使用容量降至5TB以下，隨後接收到了這封郵件(如圖2)

Since launching Google Workspace in October 2020, we’ve delivered hundreds of new features to fuel secure collaboration from anywhere, including more than 300 in 2022 alone. The updates range from improvements to our world-class security and reliability that are required by our largest customers, to tools that increase the simplicity and helpfulness desired by smaller teams. The power of our apps running in the cloud is that these enhancements are immediately available to all our customers, increasing the value we deliver.
Highlights include:
Tools to help people connect with their customers, including appointment scheduling, email marketing in Gmail, and soon e-signature support in Drive.
Features in Meet and Chat that make it easier for hybrid workers to connect, create, and collaborate from anywhere.
Built-in, AI-powered data and threat protection capabilities, including automated classification and Trust Rules in Drive, and phishing and malware protections in Calendar and Drive.
Today, we’re announcing a few updates to our pricing to reflect the value in our products, alongside expanded commitment options to lock in the lowest pricing, providing our customers with more choice.
First in our updates, we are introducing an Annual Plan option for all editions available through our website. Annual Plans are great for organizations ready to commit to a longer-term agreement, and allow customers the ability to lock in the lowest per-user price.
Second, we are increasing the price of Flexible Plan subscriptions. Flexible Plans offer customers the option to pay as they go, with no commitment, and provide customers the option to add or delete user accounts at any time, offering added flexibility for businesses with a variable-size workforce. Starting March 14, 2023, new customers will be able to sign up for the new Annual Plan purchase option through our website, and existing customers on the Flexible Plan can switch to the Annual Plan in the Admin Console. The updated list prices for Google Workspace Business editions will be:

Third, we are increasing the price of Google Workspace Enterprise Standard to reflect the value we’ve added to the edition, including industry-leading security controls and administrative features designed for large enterprises. There are no list price changes to the other Enterprise editions, including education upgrades. Customers should connect with their account managers if they have questions.
To give our existing partners and customers sufficient lead time, the new pricing will roll out starting in April of this year and through 2024, depending on factors that include number of user licenses, current contract terms, and payment plan. For example, pricing for existing Google Workspace subscriptions with 10 or fewer user licenses will not change until January 2024. Customers will be notified via the Google Workspace Admin Console at least 30 days before their price changes take effect and provided with more specific information to help them navigate these changes.
Finally, alongside these changes, we are also adjusting some local currency pricing, something we evaluate periodically to maintain alignment with the exchange rates to the US dollar. Customers that will be impacted by any foreign exchange adjustments will be notified in advance of these changes.

Google Drive Has a 5 Million Item Cap, Even if You Have Storage Space Left
Reddit users came to this unfortunate realization, forcing them to either
delete or consolidate millions of items.
Google Drive now limits users to 5 million items. A Google Workspace
spokesperson confirmed the change in an email Monday evening.
This comes as a Reddit user posted a thread Monday saying Google had imposed
a 5 million item limit on peoples' Drive accounts, without prior warning. The
Reddit user said people began receiving "Upload Failed" notifications around
Feb. 14 for any action, including creating a new empty folder.
"To maintain strong performance and reliability, individual users are limited
to 5 million total created items in their Google Drive," a spokesperson from
Google Workspace said. The spokesperson went on to say this change affects
only a small number of users and recommended deleting some files.
For those with a plethora of files, suddenly being asked to remove millions
of items is a major inconvenience, as noted in a report created on Google's
issue tracker. One user in the UK said their business in the animal health
space has been critically hit by this change. It's caused a major disruption
for the "tens of thousands of users in-practice and their work on a daily
basis."
Others are wondering why, if there's a hard limit, Google didn't provide any
guidance. The rollout of this change may not be going smoothly either, with
some users saying that even at 1 million items, they can't create a new
folder.
For many users and businesses, storing files online is often more convenient
than local storage. The overall cloud storage market was valued at $78.6
billion in 2022, according to Markets and Markets.
People can upgrade their Google One account, the service that contains Gmail,
Drive, YouTube and others, to have additional storage. This storage can go
all the way up to 30TB. Google One competes with Microsoft's OneDrive,
Dropbox, Amazon Cloud Drive and Box. Of course, Google One integrates better

Amazon is shutting down its drive service at the end of 2023, only keeping
Amazon Photos around for photo and video. But there's no limit on the number
of photos and videos stored, said an Amazon spokesperson.
Some Google One competitors also have file limits. OneDrive for Business has
a limit of 50,000 items per folder. But it's uncertain if Microsoft has a
hard cap on the number of items overall. Dropbox, on the other hand, says
there's no limit.
Microsoft and Box representatives didn't immediately respond to requests for
comment.
It seems that regardless of a person's Google One plan, whether it be 100GB
or 20TB, the 5 million item limit applies. As a result, users with small file
sizes are likely to hit the item limit before they hit the storage limit:
Someone on a 2TB plan would have to exceed an average file size of 400KB to
run out of storage before they hit the item limit. So, unless a person is
storing large files like photos and videos on their drive, it's possible that
some are paying for more space than can realistically be used.
Alternatively, other Reddit users pointed out that compressing files into a
.ZIP folder ends up counting as one item.

They seem to have updated the error maybe? In my case it now says:
googleapi: Error 403: This account has exceeded the creation limit of 5
million items. To create more items, move items to the trash and delete them
forever., activeItemCreationLimitExceeded
I'm using Google Workspace Enterprise Standard
I've deleted a few million files and emptied the trash but it's still not
letting me create new files.

登主控台進去就有紅色顯眼告示
機構儲存空間已滿 - 貴機構的 Google Workspace 儲存空間用量已超出上限 (15 TB)。
為避免服務中斷，請在 59 天內釋出空間或取得更多儲存空間。
我這邊目前3個user，所以總空間為15T
然後可以增加10T為單位的空間，但是費用為一個月300USD，20T就是600USD
看來只剩自組NAS這條路了...
另一位朋友那邊自己1人的Workspace Standard也有收到同樣的信
不知道其他5人以上的有沒有收到?

不過我有一個舊版 G Suite Business 轉換為 Google Workspace Enterprise Standard 經銷商收費，5位使用者共 25 TB 的共用儲存空間，目前已使用 5x TB 並沒有收到警告信。
所以有可能 Google 在清退 1 人也無限空間的用戶？
但今日有網友通知，他們車主收到信件容量上限是 50TB，要在 7/21 前搬完檔案。
50/5=10 推算是10人車。所以 Google 應該在逐步清理空間容量降低成本中~
